Viber plays catch-up with GIFs and video messages - derossettreocken1946
Once upon a time you needed two extricated electronic messaging apps on your phone: WhatsApp for free text messages worldwide, and Viber gratis interpreter calls. But o'er the years those cardinal apps (and many others) have become more and more synonymous—though with unequaled features available on each.
Now, Viber is upping its New World chat game with few new additions that feel more like the messaging app is playing catch-up with the competition rather than breaking new ground.
Video messages
Viber's unweathered listed video feature film.
The number 1 new feature: recorded video messages. Viber's new video messages appear inside the text chat window as a small doughnut-shaped video and are narrow to 30 seconds each. Similar to WhatsApp's recorded audio feature, you press and detainment Viber's picture chat release while inside a chat screen. In one case you let go of of the video button your content is automatically conveyed, or you can slide left to cancel.
Notation that Viber's active video messages deficiency audio, however. This means they're more the like extended animated GIFs than anything else.
GIFs and more in chat
Speaking of GIFs, Viber is adding what it calls chat extensions to its messaging feature. This is similar to Facebook Courier's ability to add information from fractional-party services. Viber's New World chat extensions have you quickly add animated GIFs from Giphy and information from sites like TheMovieDB and Wikipedia, as well equally stickers. To access the new chat extensions lineament, tap on the "@" symbol in the schoolbook entranceway area and scroll through the various options.
Viber says it leave continue to add more third-company services to the extensions feature in the future.
Those are the two too large other additions to the new Viber. The app is too getting redesigned emoticons that the company says have a "flat, colorful aesthetic." The Viber update is resonant away instantly to users on Android and iOS.
